Book List

“There are worse crimes than burning books.
One of them is not reading them.”
― Joseph Brodsky

I’ve always been a fan of reading, mostly fiction when I was younger, but since getting into the world of health and personal development, my desire to learn has increased. Up until about the middle of 2018, I would read somewhat sporadically, going through waves with books, only reading when I felt a big enough pull. But then there was a point where it suddenly dawned on me: there is a whole wealth of knowledge hidden inside these books, pages and pages that people have dedicated their lives to, and all I have to do is pick them up and read it. No research, no struggles, no real effort on my part, just the time it takes to get through it. That is a huge resource of information available to us, covering almost every topic imaginable so no matter what your interests are, you can further your knowledge on it. So that is when I decided to read a book a month. Granted, I’ve fallen off the wagon with the volume of books read now, but I still consistently have a couple on the go at any given time.

And it’s funny because since this realization, the right books have just kind of found me. I originally started with a list, but now books just show up when I need them, teaching me exactly what I need to learn. These books have been a tremendous influence on me during this latest stage of my life, so I’ve made a list of books that have recently made it to my bookshelf. I hope you explore some of these for yourself if you feel drawn to them.
